Variety Show!

Get your act together, because the 2012 Variety Show Auditions are coming up!  Auditions will be Tuesday, January 31 and Thursday, February 2 from 2:45 - 5:30.  There will be shows on Friday, March 2, 2012.

Steal the Teacher

This week is Steal the Teacher - encourage others to contribute some change (or even bills) to win a free bell with pizza and no teacher!  Make sure to put your money in the class you want a break in most.  Don't delay; the competition ends this Friday, Dec. 16.

Senate Meeting Announcements

Steal the Teacher

Prepare for the annual Steal the Teacher competition, coming this December 12-16!  The classroom with the most money collected will win a free bell (their teacher will be stolen) and a pizza party, so save your change.  Good luck!

Senate Lock-In

The Senate Lock-In will be on Friday, December 2 (8pm)-Saturday, December 3(7am).  We will be decorating, team building, and having fun, so make sure to come!  There will be pizza provided by Senate - however, if you can bring something to round out the meals, it would be much appreciated.  See you all then!

P.S. The next senate meeting will be the Parent Meeting on Thursday, December 1 at 7pm.

Canned Food Drive

Tuesday, Nov. 22 is your absolute last chance to bring in items for the food drive.  Thank you to all who participated - your donations to the Corpus Christi Food Pantry are greatly appreciated and will go toward families in the immediate area just in time for the holidays. 

Senate Meeting

The next Senate meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15, during 1st bell in the auditorium.  Make sure to get your teacher's permission - we'll see you there!

Powder Puff Update

The Powder Puff game has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday, Nov. 10.  It will still be held at 4:30pm, and participants must be there by 4pm.  You can still turn in your forms and $2 to Stephanie Herndon if you want to play.  Tickets to watch are $2.  See you then!

Operation: Thank You

This year FMP is spearheading another service project like last year's Jeans for Teens with Aeropostale.  It is called Operation: Thank You, and they are collecting anything from nonperishable foods to personal hygiene products for our troops overseas.  See Ms. Meador for a list of items, or check with any mentors or mentor teachers you see.  Items donated will receive service hours for class requirements.  You can drop them off in room 202.

Powder Puff

The Powder Puff game this year will be held on November 3, 2011, at the football field.  Girls will play, and the boys will coach.

Pick up your forms to play or coach at lunch.  It is $2 for players and coaches, and only 11 girls will be allowed on a team at a time.  The first 20 girls with forms and money turned in will play (NO RESERVED SPOTS).  Collection of money and forms will be from Monday, Oct. 31 - Wednesday, Nov. 2.
The whole team must wear the same color:

• Seniors - black
• Juniors - pink
• Sophomores - blue
• Freshmen - white

Players and Coaches must arrive promptly at 4:30 pm for check-in on Nov. 3, 2011.

• Meeting during advisory on Wed, Oct. 26 in the cafeteria to help with veteran's night
• Friday, October 28, 2011
• Sign up with Tom to help drive golf carts (if you have a license) or escort veterans and take their food orders
• Be there by 6pm to help

Halloween Secret Pals

• Notes in mailboxes from Monday, October 24 - Thursday, October 27
• Small gift/treat on Friday, October 28 (plan ahead!)
• Sign up with your senate officer

Homecoming

Don't forget that set-up for homecoming is from 8am to 3pm on Saturday the 15th of this month!  Make sure to bring tape or glitter spray if you've signed up to bring it.  With an item, you will need 3 hours of working, and 4 hours without an item.  See you there! :)
